
Carol Lynley, born Carole Ann Jones on February 13, 1942 and died on September 3, 2019 was an American actor best famous for her roles in Blue Denim (1959), and The Poseidon Adventure (1972). Lynley was the daughter of an Irish father and a New England mother. Prior to becoming an actor she began modeling as a young model. Her nomination for the Theatre World Award for "one of the most promising people 1956-1957" for her role in The Potting Shed. Lynley started her film career by appearing in The Light in the Forest, a Disney film The Light in the Forest The Light in the Forest, followed by Holiday for Lovers (1959) and Blue Denim (1959). She was nominated in 1959 for the Golden Globe Award as Most Promising Female Newcomer Female. The film was nominated for the Golden Globe Award again for Most Promising Youngcomer - Female in the year following for Blue Denim.
