Allison Janney

AllisonAllison Brooks Janney (born November 19, 1959)[2] is an American actor. Her name is well-known due to her performances across a variety of kinds of genres, both on screen and stage throughout her three decades of career. Janney was nominated twice for Tony Awards and has been presented with one Academy Award as well as an award from the British Academy Film Award. She was born in Boston and raised in Dayton, Ohio, Janney received a scholarship to study in the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art following her graduation from Kenyon College. Following years of minor, not-credited appearances on television and film The breakthrough for Janney came from the role of C. J. Cregg in The West Wing, an NBC dramatic drama The West Wing (1999-2006) where she earned 4 Primetime Emmy Awards. Because of her character Margaret Scully, a Showtime actress on The period-based drama Masters of Sex, Janney was awarded this year's Primetime Emmy Award as Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series. She is most famous for her performance as Bonnie Plunkett.
