Anita Sarkeesian was born in Canada but grew up in the U.S. She has worked as media critic since. Sarkeesian is a graduate in political thought and social theory from York University. She is an extremely well-respected and respected public speaking. Sarkeesian has given speeches at the TEDxWomen XOXO Festival and United Nations Broadband Working Group. Inquiring about gender and feminism since an early age she launched her site Feminist Frequency in the year 2009 when she was studying at the university. This ambitious woman planned to launch an internet series on the role of gender in games but was the target of an online campaign to harass her. The attack did have been a hindrance, rather it made her more determined as a feminist media critic. Her notable contributions to the field of feminists have been recognized by numerous prizes. Anita Sarkeesian was a multi-award winning media critic. She was also the creator and director of Feminist Frequency an educational non-profit group that focuses on pop-culture representations of females.
